Will AI replace me? --> How soon will AI replace me?
Every day the headlines and press releases are stating we have AI, we don’t need so many people. We are far more efficient with a lean team using AI.
While I do not want to deny the efficiency underneath the AI transformation, there is an important truth hidden in plain sight.
Brendan mentions about it in this youtube video
Right now oversupply and over saturation is the reason. The threat was sitting in a system that was only ever sustainable when money was free. And never realizing that you needed to move before the music had stopped. And it stopped. The people who survived the layoffs are neither more talented nor smarter. They just stopped selling their time and started owning a process. You need to answer this question for yourself.
I own a process that either produces revenue or protects a margin and that process is ______
Ron Hetrick mentions in his Linkedin article - Never forget that the pace of change in technology does not come close to the pace of change in adoption which is infinitely slower and messier. Nothing will ever change the fact that people want to talk to other people and companies that put AI in that loop take significant risks and may actually need to hire people back. That said, companies will decide what is best for them, what risks they want to take, and workers will have time to make those decisions as well. The world has always been changing; IT jobs did not even exist before the mid-1960s in any notable way. Workers and companies want to survive and they will adapt to do so.
